megatrax blog: the introductory message

Welcome to the Megatrax blog! It is with great pleasure and anticipation that I announce the launch of our first blog ever! For over 20 years we have served the media and entertainment community by providing great music for productions; it is our goal through this blog to finally have the opportunity to “tell the story behind the music”!

In this space we will be covering such topics as artist interviews, composer updates, industry trends, music licensing questions, tech info and tips, and much more. We will take you behind the scenes on some of our recording sessions happening all over the world,  you will meet our artists and see where they are performing and touring, you will find out which top TV shows and films are being scored by our composers- and discover what inspires and motivates them to consistently create great music.

This is very exciting time in our industry. When we started 20 years ago, our catalog could only be accessed on CD. Now we have 50,000+ tracks instantly available and searchable on the web and on hard drives. In the “old days”, we used to have to bring musicians down to our studio to make a recording. Now we can record musicians anywhere- a guitarist in LA, a sax player in NY and a vocalist in Paris can all perform remotely on the same piece. It is incredibly liberating to literally have access to any musician (or arranger or mixer or lyricist or ensemble) in the world! I believe that we have only begun to scratch the surface of this musical “crowd sourcing”and that we are on the verge of a wellspring of creativity unseen since the Renaissance once this kind of remote collaboration is fully tapped.

As we boldly venture forth with this blog, it is our intention that the information offered herein will prove to be both informative and engaging, and that this content will ultimately serve to enrich your experience with Megatrax. As always, we welcome and encourage your comments and feedback regarding not only this blog but also any of our products and services. Finally, let me take this opportunity to thank all our clients who have used our music in so many great productions over the years. Your success is our success!
